Getting a legitimate job working from home is a great way to free yourself from the hassles of a daily 9-to-5 job. Imagine working from your home and setting the hours you wished to work. Now that’s the kind of freedom that any person would like to have, while earning a decent income at the same time.

The Internet has opened up many opportunities to find legitimate working from home jobs. Just like any other small business where money is involved, you’re sure to encounter fake or scam job opportunities on the Internet. You need to know where to find legitimate jobs working from home and how to recognize the difference between a real income opportunity and a complete scam.

Where to Find Legitimate Jobs Working from Home

Although most jobs these days require going to an office or factory, more and more companies have began to hire home-based workers. Hiring home-based personnel on a part-time or contractual basis is much cheaper than keeping full-time recruits on the payroll, so outsourcing makes a lot of sense for small businesses.

Some companies hiring home-based workers will require their employees to spend their time in their offices aside from working at home. Other legitimate home-based jobs can be done exclusively at home. The most common work at home jobs include freelance writing, telemarketing, customer service, transcription, and web design. Legitimate work from home jobs ca be commission-based, pay-per-project, or part-time basis.

You can find legitimate jobs working from home through the following channels:

• Freelance sites. These websites have thousands of job listings for home-based workers. Freelance sites are excellent places to find work, but you have to compete with other freelancers who charge lower rates.

• Classified ads. Sites like Craigslist have listings of companies seeking for work at home employees. Just be careful that you don’t fall victim to a scam offer.

• Niche industry sites. There are websites dedicated to a specific industry or occupation, such as freelance writing. These sites regularly post job listings for home-based workers.

• Work at home directories. These websites offer free information and advice for work at home employees aside from their regular listings of genuine jobs working from home.

So how can you know if a job is legitimate or not?

The rule of thumb in looking for legitimate work from home careers is, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is. As long as you know the tell-tale signs of a scam, then you can easily find a high-paying and legitimate job working from home.
